The first Associated Press boys basketball poll of the 2012-2013 season, which was released on January 7, 2013, included three teams from the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

Undefeated Central Catholic (7-0 / 3-0 TRAC) was ranked second.  Whitmer (8-2 / 4-1 TRAC) was positioned in sixth-place and St. John’s Jesuit was ranked in 17th place (9-3 / 4-1 TRAC).

All three teams are contending for leadership in TRAC conference play.

Central Catholic, which had to delay the start of the basketball season due to their Division II state football championship run, has yet to play either Whitmer or St. John’s.  The Fighting Irish will host Whitmer on January 11 and then the team will travel to St. John’s on January 18.

Whitmer and St. John’s squared off against each other on December 12 with the Titans taking a 60-37 win over the Panthers, who were coming off of their runner-up finish in the state Division I football championship game.  Both teams will meet again on January 22.
