Toledo Blade sports writer Steve Junga previews the upcoming TRAC girls varsity basketball season.
Notre Dame Academy, winners of last year’s Three Rivers Athletic Conference championship, was picked by league coaches to be the preseason favorite to repeat as the TRAC title winner.
The Lady Eagles went undefeated in conference play last season and made it to the state Division I final four. However, four starters and a key reserve player from last year’s team have graduated.
Notre Dame coach Travis Galloway told the Toledo Blade, “Last year’s run was great. It was a great way for those seniors to end their careers. Although we’ve lost a ton of talent, we still have back some players who were on that team last year and got some experience.”
Conference play begins on November 29, 2012.
