Central Catholic won the first Three Rivers Athletic Conference softball title behind a dominating performance of pitcher Erin Seiler.
Central defeated Clay 2-0 in the championship game of the TRAC tournament Saturday (May 19). Seiler struck out 13 and gave up just two hits.
The Irish scored both of their runs in the fourth inning. Kaitlin Bronikowski started the rally with a single. Maggie Buchele followed with a double. Sydney Delp then hit a sac fly to plate Bronikowski for a 1-0 lead. Carolyn Oatis then singled up the middle to make it 2-0.
Central (20-7, 14-3 TRAC) defeated Whitmer 2-0 in a semifinal on Saturday to reach the title game. Seiler struck out 10 batters in the semifinal.
