A decisive showdown between Three Rivers Athletic Conference foes in the OHSAA Division I softball playoffs turned into a rout for the Clay Eagles as they cruised past Notre Dame 13-3 to capture the district title on May 24, 2013 at Rolf Park in Maumee, Ohio.

It was third time this season that the two teams have played each other with the final results always in favor of the Lady Eagles from Clay.

This was the first district championship for Clay since 2009 when the team reached the regional finals.

“District champs is a nice feeling,” Head coach Brenda Radabaugh told Toledo Blade sports writer Mark Monroe . “It’s something we haven’t had in awhile [but] there’s a lot more to go.”

Clay (25-3), who entered the title game ranked No. 9 in the most recent Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Association poll, advances to the regional semifinals against Anthony Wayne on May 29 at Clyde High School in Clyde, Ohio.
